Mindy graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a master’s degree in Public Administration and a graduate certificate in Nonprofit Leadership and Management. Mindy also received a national accreditation as a Certified Nonprofit Professional through the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance. In addition, Mindy has served as an adjunct professor for both graduate and undergraduate courses in Public Administration and Nonprofit Management.
Mindy has built a multi-faceted career in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors with experience in fundraising and development, program management, and grants management. She is driven by the belief that philanthropy has the responsibility to address inherent power imbalances through the development of equitable funding principles and practices in order to empower nonprofits and grassroots community organizations to focus on their mission and create positive change in the communities they serve.
Both professionally and personally, Mindy strives to be an informed advocate and “co-conspirator” for social justice, particularly in the areas of mental health, racial justice and LGBTQ+IA issues. Mindy spends most of her free time listening to podcasts and audiobooks, binge-watching the latest water-cooler shows, going to see live music, and spending time with her kids and cat, Henry.
