Throughout these past couple of months, the virus known as Covid-19 has changed the lives of many worldwide.
Many have died under this name and many have suffered the loss of their loved ones. People have struggled to find food for their families, and others have been stripped from their jobs or their businesses, leaving them with little to no money and very little hope for the future. Yet throughout this pandemic, there have been communities that have helped those in need and organizations that have provided the goods that others cannot have due to financial reasons.
People worldwide, whether as a group or as an individual, have helped those find the support system that they need, providing them with shelter, food, supplies, and health equipment for nothing in return. As the days have passed by, more and more kindness has been shown and shared throughout the world, an amount of kindness that hasn’t been demonstrated in a long time.
After the hard times ease away, many will truly know what it means to be kind to others and others will know what it feels like to receive that kindness. I want to believe that after this pandemic, humankind has learned to reach out to those who cry for help, to share resources, and to help those who are in need of it, without thinking of a personal gain or monetary value. The hardships that everyone has gone through together will make us acknowledge the fact that we are stronger when we work together and that more can be done when we cooperate as a whole, not as an individual. The future looks brighter when everyone works together and ignoring the barriers, walls, stereotypes, and stigmas that many people have to live with.
